Regulatory Compliance Analyst

Description:
Position Overview: Responsible for completing assigned task and projects in the areas of regulatory compliance with vehicle upfits. Duties & Responsibilities: Maintains and in-depth knowledge of all OEM vehicle upfit compliance requirements Maintains an understanding of all OEM vehicle upfit certification calculations Create one off certification calculations and/ or programs based on OEM requirements Maintains in depth understanding of all applicable safety standards such as but not limited to: FMVSS, NHTSA, EPD, DOT Build and maintain relationships with key OEM and industry contacts in relation to regulatory compliance Assists designers and drafters with compliance expertise to complete design validation activities. Performs other duties, assignments and special projects as may be required from time to time. Position Requirements: BSME or equivalent technical degree with at least 3 year of relevant design or installation experience. Requires skills in product design and understanding of technical drawings Ability to work effectively in a self directed environment with other department personnel to gather detailed technical information to develop manuals. Individual will work under little direct supervision. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have good project management and organizational skills. Must have strong PC skills and experience with 3D-CAD, word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must possess or be willing to gain knowledge in VBA or other coding languages for compliance templates. Ability to compile compliance information from multiple sources and communicate requirements in a clear and concise manner. Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position: Normal standing, bending, walking, and lifting in an office environment. Must be able to sit and work in an office environment for several hours per day. Must be capable of doing light assembly work in engineering lab occasionally. Must be available for periodic overnight travel for industry events.
