Our services include emergency food transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we can decrease barriers to service and better support some of our community's most marginalized members. This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Emmanuel House How You Will Make an Impact Emmanuel House Hospice is a ten-bed palliative care facility located in Hamilton that offers a home-like environment for individuals who are nearing the end of their lives. Support and care are provided in a team-based approach, including various interdisciplinary team members such as personal support workers, nursing, physicians, spiritual and psychosocial support. We embrace a holistic model of care and the importance of providing individuals dignity at the end of their life, while providing opportunity for the resident and family to exercise religious, cultural and spiritual rituals, customs, rites and beliefs. Provide care to persons, families and friends at the end of life Work independently and collaboratively within the care team Deliver care in a person-centered way that considers the resident's personal and cultural needs/preferences What You'll Bring to Our Team Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required Current CPR certificate required Experience working with individuals and their families in the end of life or with a life limiting illness Strong clinical backssment skills and the ability to work.
