Join our team as we help young people find stability, success & positive relationships! The Bilingual Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) will provide case management services focused on mental health to the residents and clients of HOME Youth Services. The person in this position will work collaboratively with program staff and community partners to provide support and advocacy with the goal of encouraging positive mental health for residents and clients of HOME Youth Services. Candidates must apply by 05/05/23 in order to be considered for first round interviews. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Current license as a Qualified Mental Health Professional and at least two years related social services experience which includes case management and program coordination and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Previous experience working or volunteering with youth preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver's license and auto insurance required. Satisfactory drive record required for the past 5 years. Pass Oregon Department of Human Services criminal background check. Food Handler's Card required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. A Qualified Mental Health Professional certification required. Bilingual English/Spanish capabilities are preferred but not required. To qualify as bilingual, staff must possess demonstrated abilities to speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish and English and pass a bilingual test. An additional 2% bilingual differential may be given if staff pass bilingual skills test. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Performs needs assessments using a client centered, trauma informed approach. Uses information gathered in assessments to develop comprehensive support plans to designated youth in order to support their individualized needs and goals. Performs risk assessments with youth. Provides guidance to program management based on results gathered in assessments. Provides mental health training and support to program staff. Monitors participant progress and maintains detailed and up-to-date case notes. Employs de-escalation techniques and makes quick decisions in response to incidents. Maintains working knowledge of relevant community resources and refers youth to resources as needed. Organizes and leads monthly support groups, utilizing evidence-based behavioral health strategies. Makes changes as needed depending on engagement and individual/group needs. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling office equipment. Required to frequently reach with hands and arms; regularly required to climb or balance; required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Use of kitchen equipment including, but not limited to range, oven, steamer, dishwasher, and various kitchen utensils; occasionally required to operate a motor vehicle. WORK ENVIRONMENT Close quarters, often with a client population experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and/or severe and persistent mental illness, and/or unpredictable behavior. Personally responsive to urgent situations, which could require travel for on-site interventions. Indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands. Exposure to trash and potential biohazards. Occasional urgent situations requiring law enforcement involvement and/or paramedic professionals. Occasional exposure to bodily fluids and malodorous air. * COVID-19 Alert: This position includes performing essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic and potential exposure to others who may be infected with the virus. I understand that if I am feeling unwell or have knowledge that I have had contact with an individual with a positive COVID-19 test, I will report it to my supervisor and XXXX@mwvcaa.org and self-isolate according to agency policies.
