Assignments include: Translating functional qualifications into conceptual and detailed designs; Providing estimates for development effort; Implementing proof of concept, prototypes and production-grade software; creating unit and acceptance tests; coordinating sign-off from QA/Test; automating deployment; And assisting Operations and Support staff in trouble-shooting software issues as well as implementing bug fixes.Position qualificationsREQUIRED:- HTTP/REST development background- 1 to 5yrs of professional software engineering background- Solid people skills with a demonstrated expertise to work as a productive member of a fast-paced, tight-knit team DESIRABLE:- Background with multi-threaded applications- Knowledge of secure programming concepts (e.g., cryptography and threat modeling)- Proficiency in Python or Ruby development on Linux platforms- Background in open source development- Linux system administration skills- NoSQL database background on a platform such as Cassandra or MongoDB- Relational database background- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science- Object-oriented development background in C++, C# or JavaRackspace, a world leader in hosting delivers enterprise-level managed hosting, cloud hosting, and e-mail hosting services to businesses of all types and sizes globally.
