Purchasing & Materials Management Intern ID 2023-2202 Category Purchasing Division Green Bay Mill Division Position Overview Green Bay Packaging, Inc. (GBP) is seeking a Purchasing & Materials Management Intern to assist with mill procurement and storeroom operations starting in December 2023. This arrangement would be great for a student looking to work part-time during the school year. This individual will work closely with the senior buyer and storeroom analyst during the course of the internship. Responsibilities * Assist in implementation of new Enterprise Management System* Assist in data analytics for supply chain decisions* Assist in implementation of new warehouse facility* Track and develop EOQ, VMI systems* Maintain appropriate inventory levels and develop ordering strategies through placement of product orders* Resolve internal customer and supplier disputes* Reconcile receiving and invoice discrepancies* Build strong vendor relationships through effective communication* Assist with physical inventory* Manage purchase order acknowledgements* Create and implement SOP's and training documents* Participate in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and Purchasing meetings* Participate/lead meetings with vendors and internal stakeholders* Assist with other purchasing initiatives as required Qualifications * Student working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field* Strong written and verbal communication skills* Proficient in MS Office Suite of products, especially Excel and Word* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently and efficiently Division Description The Green Bay Mill Division is a vertically integrated paper mill that manufactures containerboard using 100% recycled furnish. The operation consists of one paper machine responsible for the production of linerboard and medium paper used to manufacture corrugated boxes. This family-owned mill is located near the mouth of the Fox River in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
