The Municipal Property backssment Corporation (MPAC) is Ontario’s property expert. We create and maintain a comprehensive database of information for each of the more than five million properties in Ontario. We are responsible for delivering property values, insights and services to taxpayers, municipalities, governments and businesses. Job Description What makes you great for this role? You are an organized team player who can participate in determining the backssed values of complex properties within an assigned group/portfolio and respond to the challenges of the value. We have: A team of highly skilled, dedicated, and collaborative staff to work with Leadership that supports you An enterprise that embraces change A work environment that has flexible work locations (including remote), hours of work and overall employee wellness support You have: A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as Real Property Administration, Real Estate and Housing, Geography, Urban Planning or related field Completion of a professional designation from one of the following recognized accrediting organizations: o Appraisal Institute of Canada: Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI™)o International Association of backssing Officers: Certified backssment Evaluator (CAE) o Institute of Municipal backssors: Member of the IMA (MIMA) o Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors: Member of RICS (MRICS), or Fellow of RICS (FRICS) At least 5 years of experience in the valuation discipline Expert knowledge of appraisal techniques and theory Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills to undertake investigation of valuation issues Exhibit strong communication skills to liaise with and convey valuation concepts and theories to internal and external stakeholders Nice to have: Knowledge of the economic, environmental and political forces that impact the value of real property Knowledge and experience in the application of valuation tools Knowledge of backssment.
