Product Category Head Procurement Company: Confidential Role Managing and motivating the team to deliver the day-to-day activities of the Procurement department Approving & devising strategies for daily negotiations with colleagues in China office Maintaining & Improving the Established Relationship with the China Office Assisting with building, maintaining & implementing record of data, new processes and systems Ensuring all company processes and procedures are adhered to including an effective email filing system Support the Buying Manager with the Review of suppliers’ reliability & quality performance in alliance with colleagues in China office Ensuring Purchase Orders are sent out in a timely and accurate manner Overseeing the checking of samples and swatches to ensure they ship products to meet their quality standards and customer expectations Closely monitoring team communications with all other departments and supporting as required Deputising for the Buying Manager or Assistant Manager; stand-in in their absence To attend China trade fair as required Person Specification Proven successful track record within a buying-procurement/product environment Highly organised, methodical with excellent attention to detail Thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys new challenges Good negotiation, influencing and analytical skills High level mathematics/numeracy skills including GCSE maths A or B or equivalent Possess excellent PC skills - proficiency in Excel and Outlook are essential CIPS qualified or part qualified desirable Office based Hertford Monday – Friday, 9am till 6pm 1 hour lunch Salary - £Competitive, plus benefits: Company pension Employee discount Free parking Experience: Category Management: 3 years preferred PLEASE NOTE – by applying to this position, you agree for your CV to be submitted to our client, for whom we are working on a confidential basis.
