Prep Cook - Burch Burgers & Cheese

Burche is looking for an Entry Level Prep Cook to join our team. No formal culinary education is required for this role, and most Entry Cooks hold a high school diploma. In this position, your principal goal will be to preform basic cooking duties and prepare high-quality meals that meet our restaurant standards. To be a successful Cook, the ideal candidate should understand and be willing to comply with food and sanitation guidelines and regulations, be quick and diligent, and willing to improve on the job. The Cook should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment. Duties and responsibilities Setup and stocking stations with all necessary supplies. Prepare food for service. (e.g. chopping vegetables or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Clean up station and take care of leftover food. Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid WA State Food Handlers Card. Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure. Basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures. Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. Strong team working and communication skills. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, & holidays. Physical Demands The employee must regularly lift items up 10 pounds, frequently up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand throughout their shift, walk, reach with hands and arms in front of body, lift, twist, crouch occasionally.
