Stevens Construction Corp. is a commercial general contractor with self-performed trades of concrete and carpentry; serving the Midwestern region with offices in Madison, Milwaukee and Bloomington, MN. We specialize in the new construction of various commercial, multi-family, senior living, and mixed-use buildings. This position will remain local to Milwaukee and our office is located downtown in the old brewery district, inside a former project of ours at The 42 building! The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for all functions and management associated with Preconstruction and Estimating of current and future projects. This position has the overall responsibility for the successful delivery of preconstruction services to our clients from contract negotiations to handing jobs over to Construction Operations. Takes initiative in Business Development. Develops a project from the first client contact to subcontract formalization. Manage the preconstruction process from conceptual level through contract execution. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Manage the design-build MEP trades through preconstruction process. Prepare and send out Bid Documents. Consolidate all risk and opportunities for the overall project cost. Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation. Present project estimates and budgets to Clients and other stakeholders. Maintain and make corrections and/or adjustments to Clients budget to maintain project budget. Develop and maintain professional relationships at the highest ethical standards with clients, and other customers. Ensure project turnover from Preconstruction to Construction Operations is done properly with all information transferred. Requirements: 3+ years' experience working for a commercial general contractor, construction management firm, or engineering firm, estimating projects in excess $30M+ Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related degree Strong business development skills Ability to build strong relationships with customers and clients Benefits: We offer a competitive salary and benefits that include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, matching 401(k), paid time off, paid Holidays, and company sponsored events!
