Job Summary: The Institute for Cybersecurity and Resilient Systems in the Faculty of Business and IT at Ontario Tech University, has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) in the area of Cybersecurity for the automotive and/or energy sector. The position will be supervised by Professor Khalil El-Khatib and is offered for 1 year (with the possibility of extending the term if additional funding is received). The base salary for the Fellowship is $45K, and there is also the opportunity to teach up to two courses for additional compensation ($7,717 per course). We are looking for a collaborative researcher with an interdisciplinary mindset, who will make a substantial contribution to the institute, its members and partners. Candidates should have a background in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, IT, Artificial Intelligence, or Software Engineering, or a related field. The successful candidate will conduct research intersecting foundational and applied aspects of cybersecurity in various critical infrastructures, with a focus on energy and transportation. Candidate will also be responsible for exploring and developing partnership opportunities with various companies. Candidate will also be responsible for managing projects within the institute, in collaboration with industry partners. There will be substantial opportunity for mentoring junior researchers and developing collaborations with companies and other research groups. The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in these activities, as well as advancing the institute's profile and its broader mission to become a globally recognized center for research and development in the field of cybersecurity.
