Position OverviewRGA is looking for data scientist (intern) for Summer 2023. The intern will develop and implement predictive modeling solutions and commercial applications for both RGA internal and external clients. The successful candidate will work on designing and developing data analytic tools to meet the needs of different business applications. Communicate and collaborate with colleagues to ensure highly efficient and innovative performance. The intern will work full time from June-August.Responsibilities* Assist in predictive modeling for applications in underwriting.* Create and develop data processing tools for different data sources: tables, texts and images.* Perform tests and develop diagnostic methodology to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data process pipeline.* Validate and clean data from multiple sources. Ensure data quality and integrity for effective modeling.* Participate in research related activities.* Maintain regular and predictable attendance.Requirements* Pursuing BS/MS in math, physics, statistic, engineering, computer science, computational neuroscience or related fields.* Proficiency in at least one programing language: C/C++, Java, Python, R etc.* Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as GLM, k-NN, decision Trees, neural network (deep learning) etc.* Strong problem solving skills and debugging skills* Understanding of object-oriented design and application architectures.
