ECO supports Cabinet by facilitating government’s decision-making process; delivering clear direction to departments; developing and advancing corporate priorities and plans; and providing corporate leadership for agencies, boards, and commissions. ECO also provides operational support to the Office of the Premier, operates the Nova Scotia Gift Bank, and includes the Office of Citizen-Centred Approaches (OCCA), which collaborates with departments and community to ensure government’s priorities are advanced and supported to foster and facilitate citizen-centred and restorative approaches in the areas of strategy, decision-making, policy design and operations. OCCA works to accelerate system level change and different ways of working to measurably improve the wellbeing of Nova Scotians. About Our Opportunity The Mass Casualty Commission (MCC) was the joint public inquiry created to examine the events of the mass casualty that occurred in Nova Scotia between April 18 and 19, 2020, and to provide meaningful recommendations to help make communities safer in the future. On March 30, 2023, the MCC released its Final Report – Turning the Tide Together which made recommendations under three pillars to prevent such events in the future. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Restorative Initiatives, OCCA, the successful candidate will work with colleagues in ECO and across provincial departments, and with other governments and community to coordinate, implement and report on key initiatives and actions related.
