Spectrum Sustainable Solutions, Inc., is seeking a Plant Manager. Spectrum Sustainable Solutions, Inc. (SSSI), Plant Manager position provides a steady schedule, benefits, and a local location to report to daily. The Plant Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the operations and management of the company’s facilities, processes, employees and transportation activities. Plant Manager Duties: Verifies employee attendance and manages employee PTO and vacation requests. Responsible for interviewing and hiring of all in plant personnel. Assures employees abide by and enforces company policies and procedures. Recognizes deviation from policies and procedures and administers appropriate disciplinary actions per company policy. Assures that all employees are onboarded per SSSI standard policies, practices and procedures. This includes initial physicals (Fit for Duty/DOT) and the appropriate safety training (i.e. HAZWOPER, DOT etc.) as well as any refresher course or updated courses required by internal company policy, regulatory entities, or internal operational training needs. Assigns daily job duties: Manages the process flow through the plant from inbounding waste, through processing, recycling, segregation, consolidation, separation as well as out bounding loads. Assures acceptance qualifications of designated facilities are met. Verifies receipt of manifested materials (Hazardous, Nonhazardous, Universal, etc.). Identifies discrepancies, recommends solutions and forwards that information to General Manager for resolution. Packages all required inbound documents (manifest, BOLs, subcontracts and material delivery receipts) for each client in preparation of administration’s invoicing or payment. Responsible for assuring job required materials and supplies are on hand and inventoried materials for customer services are available to provide efficient customer service. For required inventory items, a PO is requested and admin places and tracks orders assuring timely delivery. Responsible for meeting with and evaluating suppliers for in plant operational required materials, products and equipment. Establishes benchmark testing for new client waste streams and annual confirmation analysis for existing customers. Any off-spec review/analysis and discrepancy resolution recommendations are transferred to the General Manager for final determination. Responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of operational equipment. Responsible for regulatory compliance of the physical plant and all DOT assets as well as waste management-imposed requirements. I n coordination with the Transportation Manager: Route management- Works with sales and General Manager to establish routes, expansion of routes, new routes or in some instances collapsing or cancelation of routes in accordance with the best interest of SSSI and its clients. Coordinates all outbound waste streams: nonhazardous, hazardous, recyclables, universal waste, oils, etc. Coordinates with vendors who are providing transportation services to perform trailer swaps and pickups. Hires and manages over the road personnel. Plant Positions: Washing; Centrifuging; Material Handling: by waste category, by process, by building location. Plant Manager’s Qualifications: Three (3) years in a leadership position preferred Valid Driver License (Class B CDL with Hazmat is not required but is encouraged) Must be knowledgeable of waste profiling, manifesting, and waste transportation Must possess organizational skills and be capable of managing numerous events simultaneously Must have computer related skills (excel, outlook, word) Must be mechanically minded: Possess basic electrical and mechanical knowledge Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, upper management, other staff and customer service representatives Required to work 10-hour days and overtime weekly (as needed) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as well as meet the requirement of “fit for duty” as appropriate for the position. Must be able to pass preemployment physical and/or DOT physical as appropriate. Must submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screen Must be eligible to work for any employer in the U.S.A. Normal work hours are 5:30am-3:30pm, Monday – Thursday although some Fridays will be required.
