Position: Operations Research Analyst & Modeler (Mid to Sr. Level) Location: Arlington, VA Overview: Performs analysis of US military planning activities using campaign, mission, and engagement level models and simulations and other operations research techniques. Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Operations Research, Physics, Engineering, or an applied Science Discipline OR master's degree with 5 years' experience in lieu of Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility 5+ years' experience OR master's degree with: 2 years' experience performing campaign modeling and analysis using models such as STORM, EADSIM, AFSIM, AMP/MIDAS or JFAST 3 years' experience in the analyses of management or operational problems, with the ability to formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions Preferred: Master's degree in operations research, Physics, Engineering, or an applied Science discipline 5 or more years' experience performing campaign modeling and analysis using models such as STORM, EADSIM, AFSIM, AMP/MIDAS, or JFAST 10 or more years' experience in the analyses of management or operational problems, with the ability to formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions Prior military experience at the theater or joint task force level conducting planning or performing operational assessments; experience with developing R scripts for pre-processing, post-processing, data analytics and data visualization Completion of professional military education at or above MEL-4 Duties/Responsibilities: Applies mastery-level skill in advanced analytical, mathematical, or statistical techniques related to statistical analysis, parametric and non-parametric analysis, computer modeling, simulation, decision theory, mathematical programming, and regression analysis Serves as a senior warfighting analyst responsible for developing and executing analytical models and methods that support warfighting analyses from the engagement through campaign-levels Develops and executes mission and campaign-level representations, databases, and analyses of US, allied, and adversary forces executing warfighting concepts of operation Advises other operations research analysts, scientists, or engineers on techniques best suited for tasked problems About Group W: Group W is a 100% employee-owned company that hires great people to provide analysis, modeling, simulation, wargaming, and research, for visionary clients in government, commercial, and non-governmental entities.
