Our client, a large Fine Art Shipper / Removals company are looking for a Removals Operations Assistant to join their team in South West London. As the Removals Operations Assistant, you will be working closely with the Operations Manager to make sure the operations department runs smoothly. On a day: to: day basis, you will assist with the generation of job sheets and relevant paperwork for the road crew, maintain daily attendance records and monitor absences for road crew staff. Main duties of the Removals Operations Assistant: Allocation of crews Taking calls from road crews, resolving issues and giving instructions Liaise with external agencies to book drivers Provide contractors with purchase order numbers and check / sign off invoices when received Ensure that all invoicing is completed accurately and on time, invoice subcontractors for materials and approve fuel and vehicle maintenance invoices Book inspections and services for Forklift trucks and keep records updated Assist with closing down files and passing them to the relevant department The successful Operations Assistant will have good operational knowledge of the Removals and Storage / Logistics / Transport / Courier industry. You will need to have excellent organisational and administration skills, which is essential. We are keen to hear from candidates who have worked in Removals / Transport / Logistics / Shipping before. Skills and Experience required for the role: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to work within guidelines and to strict deadlines Excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook) Experience developing positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members. Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment is essential.
