Online Campaign Strategist
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation's largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking an On-line Campaign Strategist for its On-line Communications department. The main responsibility of this position is to create, produce and manage on-line fundraising campaigns to support the development goals of the organization and to effectively engage donors in our direct care work. Other duties include, but are not limited to: project managing web redesign projects; write, create and send regular email newsletters; create and manage on-line events and donation forms; analyze email and on-line campaign performance and provide reports and recommendations based on the data; liaise between direct care stakeholders on the priority, strategy, targeting and timing of on-line fundraising campaigns and web content. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, English, Liberal Arts, Communications or other relevant field along with at least 3 years' background highly desired. Applicant must have background in on-line content production—producing and maintaining web pages and/or emails, writing/editing for an on-line audience and project management—preferably for an advocacy or other nonprofit organization. Background in and/or knowledge of web development processes and on-line advocacy is preferred. Applicants must also demonstrate strong HTML and web design skills and possess excellent organization, writing and editing skills. This position is located in Gaithersburg, Md.
