Job Description KBAK/KBFX is looking for a reporter for our weekday morning show. You must be an excellent storyteller! If you are a morning person with a great personality and strong storytelling skills then this is a great opportunity for you! We want someone who has the energy and creativity to do compelling live shots for 4 hours of live morning news each weekday. This person will general assignment report following the morning newscast.Job Skills and Experience: * Must be a strong writer * Sharp wit * The ability to work well with others * A self-starter who can generate his or her own story ideas on a daily basis * Above-average organizational skills * Exemplary communication skills * Collaborate with Producers and Executive Producers to generate franchise and segment content including researching and setting up interviews * Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local stories * Leverage relationships within the community for the purpose of developing connections that lead to enterprise storytelling * Active engagement on social media is required * Perform field reporting, fill-in for other shows and other temporary assignments Requirements and Qualifications: * Ability to work the early morning shift * Previous reporting experience is preferred * Considerable live shot experience is preferred * Previous experience working in a team environment is a must * Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment * Comfortable being live daily in our morning newscasts is required * Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience While applying online, please include a link to your online demo reel. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
