Metallurgical Engineering Technician Location: Metallurgical Complex - Columbus, MT Job Responsibilities and Duties: Track and report daily smelter production , inventory, and reagent. Plan and schedule the deliveries of plant. Monitor the performance of plant scrubbing, gypsum precipitation, and cooling systems, which includes using various analytical. Assist operations and metallurgical engineers with recommendations on setting plant parameters. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly smelter samples for laboratory analysis . Prepare monthly smelter. Maintain monthly plant inventory and metal. Qualifications and Skills Required: BS in Chemistry or relevant discipline with 2 years of relevant working experience, OR a minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience in an analytical lab or mineral processing facility. Demonstrated adherence to safety programs with a strong safety record. Experience with process quality and inventory control. Strong computer skills to include Excel, databases, and plant data historians. Demonstrated organizational skills with excellent people, problem solving, and communication skills. Preferred: General understanding of smelter operations, including wet gas handling systems would be helpful. General knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
