Purpose The Musselwhite Mine Metallurgy department is currently seeking a student for an 8–12-month work term who wants to gain on-site mine and milling experience through a work term placement. Essential Duties The Metallurgy department has operational and research opportunities focusing on optimization projects for unit operations such as: Crushing, Grinding, Gravity, Leaching, Carbon-in-pulp (CIP), Elution and Water Recycle. The projects will expose you to different areas of gold production including, but not limited to: safety management, project management, process automation, metallurgical test work, data analysis and processing, engineering design, etc. Other responsibilities of the Metallurgy Student include, but are not limited to: Learning the milling process from the production floor Executing required metallurgical test work Computation of daily/monthly mill production reports Training & Experience Preference is given to students with at least 2 years completed in a Chemical Engineering Technologist or Chemical Engineering Program Previous experience in a production environment is an asset Experience with Microsoft Office applications Organized Flexible with day-to-day tasks Ability to work both independently and in a group setting Strong verbal and written communication skills Working.
