Isola, an industry leader in global materials sciences whose mission is to improve life by enabling innovation in electronic products, is hiring a manufacturing engineer intern at our Ridgeway, SC Location. THE ROLE The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will be exposed to various manufacturing engineering disciplines such as controls, electro-mechanical systems, and industrial engineering. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support a variety of people, including Operators, Supervisors, and Engineers. In addition, this position will be working hands-on in a shop environment where interns will support continuous improvement activities such as documenting process flow, implementing 5S, and making process improvements. As a problem solver, you ask the right questions to uncover the root cause and quickly iterate to a final, well-thought-out result. An efficient worker, you enjoy having multiple priorities at one time and multitasking TOP RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizing root cause analysis and lean tools to reduce waste Conducting and creating time studies, process maps, and capacity plans to help improve efficiencies Partnering with Manufacturing Engineers to implement solutions to improve yield on the production line Completing additional projects, tasks, and assignments as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis on Word and Excel Basic experience with CAD Basic skills with Statistics and lean principles A natural curiosity for problem-solving and the ability to quickly learn new technologies Desire to learn and develop leadership skills, drive and implement improvements, and engage in cross-functional teams to execute new ideas.
