New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program. The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis. This position is a Cooperative Agreement position. As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications. Must be able to obtain a completion of a favorable National Agency Check background investigation clearance. *NOTE* To be considered for this position, application must be fully completed, your responses to qualifying questions for this position must be verifiable by documentation provided through the electronic application process and clearly stated within the employment history. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND Two years of basic professional experience involving electrical, plumbing, heating, air-conditioning systems, or structural and architectural systems. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, grasp, push, and pull. Must be capable of climbing a ladder and using a hi-lift to 40 feet. Must have manual dexterity with hands and fingers. Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. or more. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs inspections, installations, repairs, minor fabrication, replaces, services, rebuilds, modifies, upgrades, alters and identifies safety issues with standard, nonstandard, automated and non-automated ranges to include Sound Effects Simulators (SES) and Battlefield Effects Simulator (BES) components: all finish work must meet standards from TC 25-8, DA Pam 385-63 and unit/customer requirements. Performs minor carpentry, masonry, and steel work (for repair of structures). This will include knowledge of materials as well as carpentry, masonry, and steel work techniques to ensure proper finish and ensure industrial standards are met. Operates a variety of testing equipment and the utilization of various tools, machines such as forklifts, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment, masonry tools and equipment, hand, and all power tools; that may be required for tasks assigned; to include utilization of all proper safety equipment with each task. Remove and transport, in stall replace parts or service automated or non-automated ranges, temporary range set-ups, targetry, SES or BES components and equipment (to include steel targets and simulated walls & windows). Performs Automated Tower Support operations. This includes the range startup & shutdown procedures, operation and clearing of malfunctions and range safety standards. Performs general 10 level maintenance on Targetry and SES/BES range equipment and all range maintenance assigned tools and heavy equipment. Performs non-automated direct range support (to include responding to range support calls to diagnose & correct PA or targetry faults by repair or replacement). Ensures materials used are documented and assigned work orders are completed in a timely manner. Travels to various locations as required to support range for the FL RTLP Program. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical repair work. Knowledge of safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work. Skill in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work. Ability to perform a variety of skilled trades functions. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to install, maintain and repair electric or gas motors, generators, and other mechanical equipment. Ability to take accurate measurements.
