FreeStar Financial Credit Union is looking for a dynamic and passionate professional to lead our Lending Sales team. Job Location: Sterling Heights Days: Monday Thru Friday w/ occasional Saturdays Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM Benefits: 4 weeks PTO available in the first year 401k with up to a 6% match Up to a 5% year-end bonus Position Purpose: The primary purpose of the Loan Manager is to assist FreeStar Financial Credit Union in fulfilling our mission positively impact the lives of our members, team members, and community through making meaningful connections and progressive financial solutions. This is accomplished by identifying and recommending appropriate products, solutions and services that may improve the financial health of our members. What You'll Do In This Role: Responsible for meeting all loan origination goals for the organization. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the loan sales department. Operations include origination, and real estate loan processing and closings. Monitor and maintain Centralized Lending, Indirect Lending, and Real Estate Lending programs, policies, and procedures. Responsible for analyzing current lending product offerings, suggest changes, and/or create new lending products. Oversee the processing of indirect and real estate loan applications to ensure origination standards are met. Ensure the cross training of staff within the department to ensure adequate coverage of positions and duties. Work with Branch leadership to engage and train team members on lending sales initiatives and meeting origination goals. Analyze lending functions to use technology in all areas and make necessary suggestions for improvement and efficiency in the sales process. Prepare monthly board reports. Conduct quarterly lending sales meetings with all lending staff. Review competitor rate comparisons monthly and recommend changes to senior management. Work with Marketing to coordinate loan promotions. Responsible for understanding Fannie Mae underwriting and selling guidelines to ensure all conventional mortgage loans are underwritten and priced appropriately with the intent to guarantee and sell the loan on the secondary market. Serve as Credit Union representative for the Veterans Administration (VA). Keeping abreast of guidelines and changes to VA mortgages. Responsible for evaluating the job performance of all department employees, including issuing any disciplinary actions. Responsible for meeting all loan origination goals for the organization. What You'll Bring To FreeStar Financial: Minimum of Associates Degree preferred. Minimum of five or more years of similar or related experience in the financial industry.
