Lead Instructional Designer/Distance Learning Coordinator Montana Technological University provides a comprehensive benefits package for all eligible positions that includes health, dental and vision insurance, mandatory retirement plan with employer contribution, partial tuition waiver, and a wellness program. Duties: This position will fulfill duties that include instructional design, quality assurance, consulting, designing and facilitating professional development in multiple modalities, contributing to on-campus communications out of the CAI office, providing end-user support (not tech support), and some record keeping. More specifically, duties will include (but may not be limited to): Utilize best practices (QM, OLC) to design and enhance online courses. Obtain and/or maintain certification with Quality Matters or similar quality assurance provider. Conduct internal reviews of online courses to ensure quality standards are met. Ensure any course or course materials from the CAI follow best practice in accessibility, readability and usability, regular substantive interaction, and alignment. Assist in scheduling, designing, and facilitating professional development sessions for faculty. Support faculty in the use of learning technologies, including Proctorio, Panopto, and Zoom. Manage various technologies’ licensures Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in education to provide relevant and effective training. Help the Director maintain regular communication with faculty and staff on relevant developments and opportunities, including contributing to the CAI website. Actively support the Strategic Goals of the University through the mission and vision the CAI office. Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree from an accredited institution Experience with online course design and development in various distance modalities, Familiarity with learning management systems in higher education from the instructor and/or student side, Experience in utilizing learning technologies such as Proctorio, Panopto, and Zoom, Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, Demonstrated Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators Demonstrated ability to work independently Willingness to obtain and maintain Quality Matters or similar certification Preferred Qualifications: BA/BS in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field, Experience in higher education, especially as an online instructor Experience in higher education in a similar position, Experience designing courses, especially in STEM subjects Familiarity with Moodle and experience with Canvas. Knowledge of NC-SARA, C-RAQ, and/or Regional Accreditation requirements Experience in multi-media course content development Current Quality Matters or similar certification For full consideration application materials must be complete.
