We are seeking qualified Kindergarten through High-school teachers for our Cleveland schools for the upcoming school year. I CAN SCHOOL Teacher Profile Being a teacher for I CAN SCHOOLS is incredibly rewarding and requires applicants to possess an extraordinarily strong work ethic. A teacher for I CAN SCHOOLS can expect to work extended hours, create and sustain a quality learning environment where high academic and behavioral expectations are the norm, achieve high test scores, and be a healthy addition to a our adult learning communities. We are seeking teachers who will "sweat the small stuff" and have a "no excuses" philosophy. Teachers will be expected to do "whatever it takes" to close the achievement gap. I CAN SCHOOLS teachers must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where accountability and high expectations are upheld at all times. I CAN SCHOOLS teachers must possess a philosophy that 100% of our students will attend and graduate from a 4 year college and/or university. I CAN SCHOOLS Teacher Expectations I CAN SCHOOLS Student Expectations Strong instructional and classroom organizational skills Intentional lesson planning that supports academic rigor and student engagement Knowledge of content area and/or grade level Highly organized and meets deadlines 100% of the time Remain positive, flexible and professional Build a healthy relationship with students, parents and colleagues Come to school every day on-time and prepared Complete homework and attend tutoring if required Attend Saturday School if academic deficiencies are observed Serve consequences for behaviors that are not scholarly Be in complete uniform every day Meet above proficient test scores Transition silently in all common areas Be relentless, serious and focused I CAN SCHOOL Compensation Pay plans are considered exceptionally competitive and commensurate with background. Employees participate in the Ohio STRS (state retirement system).
