Junior Systems Technician Location: Cirencester Salary: Grade 3 A GBP 21,253.50 to A GBP 23,144.10 per annum Job Type: Full Time, Permanent The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) has been at the forefront of agricultural education and a key contributor to the land: based sector for more than 175 years. The Role This role would be part of the Digital Architecture team that is responsible for the Universitys hardware and the applications hosted in the Universitys two server rooms and the Cloud. It is also responsible for all networks and communication infrastructure across the main and satellite locations. These provide our digital services to stakeholders in the UK and to our partners across the world. This is a developmental role with the expectation that the successful applicant will develop the understanding and skills of an IT Systems professional, with a career path to specialise in either software or hardware. This role would suit a college leaver or someone seeking a change of career. This role will be eligible for flexible working. Qualifications Educated to A level in computer sciences or equivalent qualification or experience in a related field Professional qualifications (e. g. Microsoft certification) (Desirable) Skills, Knowledge and Experience Evidence of self: motivation, proactive with a positive attitude, notably to identify service improvements Evidence of quickly learning / effectively adapting to new technologies Evidence of problem: solving, analytical and organisational skills Self: motivated and able both to work on own initiative and as part of a (potentially multi: disciplinary) team Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion Previous experience of working in the UK Higher Education sector (Desirable) Experience of IT systems and their support and maintenance.
