Intermediate Engineer Ground-based Missile Defense (GMD) program - Huntsville, AL Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) is seeking an Intermediate Engineer for work in Huntsville Al. supporting the Ground-based Missile Defense (GMD) program. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: Supporting trending analysis, reverse flow testing and vendor data to make recommendations on increasing reliability and identify improvements. Supporting customer required deliverables for on-going service life testing and results. Supporting analysis models and trending and predictive analysis. Supporting multiple boards including System Failure Review Board (SFRB), Parts, Materials and Processes Control Board (PMBCB), Corrective Action Board (CAB), Program Management Council (PMC), and Risk Boards. Conducting obsolescence research to update tracking list of obsolete parts. Selecting, distributing, and compiling quarterly obsolescence research Coordinating with sparing personnel to mitigate obsolete or soon-to-be obsolete parts Utilizing sparing, demand, and reliability data to maintain and present priority list of obsolete parts Coordinating with Product Teams to develop risks for qualifying parts and present at relevant GMD Boards Developing and presenting monthly chart package of hot topics, new and updated risks, as well as priority parts Developing and presenting quarterly chart package focused on updates to quarterly submittal broken down by subsystem Being the Obsolescence team member responsible for both the GMD Communications Network (GCN) and Interceptor Communication System Data Terminal (IDT) sub-systems Opening and resolving cases in Supportability Management Assessment & Report Tool (SMART) in response to generated warnings to help mitigate obsolescence posture Requires: Active Secret U.S. Clearance Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering/technical discipline (Math) Prefer: Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical discipline (long-term experience on GMD program will be considered regarding degree) 5 years' experience Skills: Background and experience with missile defense program desirable. Experience with electrical components such as thrust vector control electronics, Flight control electronics units and Modular Avionics Control Hardware desirable. Must be able to work in a technical team environment characterized by frequently changing tasks, new priorities and quick responses. Experience creating and documenting test plans/procedures, analyzing results and creating reports. Work Location: Huntsville, AL Travel : 10% SDS is an equal opportunity employer.
