In addition this position is responsible for filling out insurance forms, monitoring specific reports on insurance processing, answering insurance questions and general incoming calls. Depending upon the size of the practice the Insurance Specialist I may also be called upon to assist in check out, answer the telephone, pull and file medical records and input fees into the practice management system.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESThe following requirements are the min requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of background, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.1. High-school diploma or equivalent.2. Min of 2 yrs background in similar position in a medical office setting preferred.3. Knowledge in medical terminology and proficient use of computer preferred.
