General Summary of Duties: Maintains and operates computer systems and assures that all computers and associated equipment are operational at all times. Examples of Duties: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Uses computer systems to update and upgrade software programs as needed. Monitors hardware systems using operating system utilities programs. Uses computer systems to run regularly scheduled and special project functions including billing, special reports, and financial data. Performs daily backup of systems. Test new software application programs. Format disk packs. Monitor the progress of batch jobs. Performs maintenance, wiring, and repair of terminal, printer, and communication equipment including troubleshooting computer terminals and printers. Complies with all state and federal regulations regarding documentation and installation. Interprets, researches, and responds to user problems. Audits finished work for accuracy. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Attends conferences and workshops. Maintains patient and office confidentiality. Performs related work as required. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or GED. Associate Technical degree or equivalent education/experience in computer operations. Experience: Computer experience required along with three years of computer operator experience. Alternative to Minimum Qualifications: Additional appropriate education can be substituted for two years of computer operator experience.
