General Description: At the end of the workday, the Foreman walks off the job each day already planning how to bemore productive tomorrow. Typically, the Foreman will plan work 3 weeks in advance andknows when to schedule the arrival of equipment, materials, and manpower. Must be able toeffectively communicate planning with the Superintendent and crew. Strong leadership skills arerequired to be able to lead your crew. GROUP Foremen are required to know the trade of workof the employees being supervised. Must be able to direct daily construction activities of heavyequipment operators and laborers working on company projects, must be willing to workalongside crew-members if needed and monitor job specifications to ensure a quality finalproduct. Essential Functions: • Studies project specifications with project superintendent, plans construction activitiesbased on project characteristics.• Outlines and supervises daily activities of 2-15 heavy equipment operators and/orlaborers through project duration. Adjusts work schedules as needed.• Coordinates work assignments with superintendent to ensure safe work practices &deadlines are met.• Proficiently sets grade for cuts and fills using grade rod, levels, transits, gps, etc.Communicates cut/fill depths to operators based on grade staking or projectspecifications.• Works with human resources personnel and other members of management, as needed,to resolve onsite complaints and grievances within workforce.• Continually inspects assigned work area ensuring results meet or exceed projectspecifications.• Inspects work site to determine proper sequencing of activities and survey for potentialhazards or safety concerns.• Responsible for crew safety. Conducts task training for new employees and advancingoperators. Competencies: • Collaboration Skills• Communication Proficiency• Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills• Time management – ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines• Interpretation of Construction Drawings• Ethical Conduct• Experience reading blue prints / drawings• Excellent problem-solving skills and understanding of mapping concepts• Ability to use math/complete calculations• Survey/Knowledge of setting points is a plus Physical Demands: Field/Jobsite Environment – Standing, sitting, climbing, crawling, standing, crouching, bending,pushing/pulling, walking on uneven surfaces, and exposure to loud noises are to be expectedon a jobsite environment. This position is predominately outdoors at an Industrial ConstructionSite. Exposure to extreme hot or cold outside temperatures is possible. Position Type/Expected Work Hours: This is a full-time, hourly position. Days and hours of work vary from each jobsite. Occasionalevening/weekend work or travel may be required as job duties demand. Required Education and Experience: • 5+ years field experience as Construction Foreman• Must hold NCCER Industrial Carpenter Certification or willing to test• Mastery level of understanding in form building, setting anchor bolts, tying rebar, andpouring/finishing cement Industry Related Requirements: • Must hold a valid TWIC Card• Must hold a valid OSHA Basic Plus• Must be able to pass all Safety Council related courses• Must undergo Pre-Employment Screening (physical, drug & alcohol screen, audiogram,fit test if applicable)• Must hold a valid Driver’s License to operate company equipment and/or vehiclesThe individual who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat or significant risk ofsubstantial harm to the health or safety of the individual or others that cannot be eliminated orreduced by reasonable accommodation Civil Foreman will be responsible to have the following tools: • Hammer • Utility Knife• Combination Square • 25’ Measuring Tape• Chalk Box • Tool Belt• Plumb Bob • Klien Pliers• Nail Bar • Torpedo Level• Crescent Wrench
