At the same time, Indigenous nations are engaged in serious language reclamation and revitalization work, with the restoration and normalization of intergenerational transmission oftheir languages as an ultimate objective. Under the supervision of an Associate Professor at the the Centre for Indigenous Studies, the Indigenous Language Revitalization Partnership Coordinator will be tasked with building capacity at the University of Toronto to align Indigenous language teaching and research at the university with the objectives of community-led language reclamation and revitalization work, through the establishment of reciprocal partnerships that leverage the complementary expertiseof community and university language specialists.
