Summary The Department of Pediatric in the section of Hematology and Oncology is currently seeking an Assistant Professor (Hospitalist). Scope of practice: The preferred candidate is a physician who has completed a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship. This candidate would be hired at an Assistant Professor rank. Alternately a physician who has completed a General Pediatric or Internal Medicine-Pediatric residency could be considered and would be hired at an instructor rank. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage inpatient care of Hematology/Oncology patients. Attends to patient/nursing needs on admitted inpatients as well as assists with new admissions. May also be called to Emergency Department to assess patients. Oversees junior level personnel including residents and advanced practice practitioners. Supervises care they provide and provides education. Minimum Qualifications MD or equivalent degree. Preferred: Board certified or board eligible for Pediatric Hematology-Oncology boards. Alternate: Board certified or board eligible for General Pediatric boards Prior to employment start date must obtain Texas Medical License and Drug Enforcement. Administration registration.
