Job Description Due to continued growth DPD are delighted to announce they are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated HGV Workshop Technician/ Mechanic to join our thriving business. As the successful HGV Technician/Mechanic, you will report to the Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager and be a key member of the team. Working in a time critical distribution environment, your key accountabilities will include; Servicing and maintaining DPDs fleet of approximately 1500 Mercedes Benz tractor units and in 2700 trailers. Fault Diagnostics on vehicles MOT Preparation for the vehicles Weekly/ monthly checks of HGV vehicles Mechanical and Electrical repairs on vehicles What theyre looking for As the successful candidate you will have had experience working within a similar Heavy Goods or Heavy Plant role, or have knowledge of yellow goods repairs. Ideally you will be Level 3 trained in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or be a time served technician. You will have knowledge of working on Mercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo and Renault vehicles. You must demonstrate the core values of DPDs DNA : Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work and Accountability It would be advantageous if you were irtech licence qualified however this is not essential as they can provide further accreditation for this.
