We are recruiting a permanent Senior Marine Geophysicist for an ocean data company who collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment by using a marine robotic system. They offer a more flexible work/life balance with remote work from home options. They also offer pension, private healthcare, 25 days of annual leave, and annual performance bonuses. Our client is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV). The candidate will be responsible for geophysical data collection, processing, interpretation and reporting. Responsibilities will include: Remote data acquisition and processing of MBES, Side-scan Sonar, & shallow Sub-bottom Profiler (Innomar) sensors. Side scan sonar data processing including seabed picking, interpretation, production of mosaic and seabed features Shallow SBP (Innomar) processing and interpretation. Magnetometer data processing. Data processing and quality control of all survey geophysical data, creating final deliverables to a high standard. Survey System Setup – hardware and software configuration prior to vessel mobilisation on a project. Online surveying on projects in shifts. Quality Control – monitoring of the data being captured using online and offline survey tools. Report writing and client interaction. Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience Degree in Geoscience or Geophysics. Acquisition and processing experience of MBES, Side-scan Sonar, & Shallow sub-bottom Sensors. Experience in one or more of Chesapeake Sonar Wiz, DUG Insight and Oasis Montaj processing software packages. Sidescan Sonar processing experience to include seabed picking; target ID, tagging and listing; the creation and export of navigationally. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
