Position Title: General Maintenance Mechanic Pay Rate : $41.00 per hour New hires are eligible for $5000 Sign-on Bonus AND Up to $5,000 Relocation Bonus (if applicable) * Must be new hires to International Paper after 10/13/2021 and must have not been employed by another International Paper location in the previous three (3) months Up to $5,000 in relocation assistance will be available for new hires that relocate more than 75 miles from the Savannah Mill Category/Shift : Hourly Full-Time Physical Location : Savannah Mill 1201 W Lathrop Ave Savannah, GA 31415 The Job You Will Perform: As a General Mechanic duties include, but are not restricted to, replacing valves & gaskets, basic welding, repacking pumps & valves, forklift operations, screwed pipe & tubing installations, cylinder repair, pump repair & replacement, repair of rotating assemblies, roll repair and replacements, motor replacements, and repair of mechanical drive systems. The Skills You Will Bring: At least 18 years of age High School Diploma or GED Two-year Associate Degree in a related field OR a registered apprenticeship OR similar formal training is required Three or more years of experience in Heavy Industrial Maintenance Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience Must possess high standards in the areas of safety, quality, ethics, craftsmanship, customer focus, and leadership skills Knowledge of mechanical drives, pumps, seals, lubrication and hydraulics Piping layout and installation experience Welding experience: stick, mig, tig, certified Machine shop skills ex. Lathes, boring, balancing, CNC, etc. Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Three years of mechanical maintenance in pulp and paper industry PLUS: Must be willing to meet the following requirements: Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis Wear required safety equipment Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection) Participate on the HEAT team (in house emergency response team) The Benefits You Will Enjoy: Paid Vacation - Eligible for one week of vacation after six months of employment Holiday Pay Health care coverage plans Life Insurance and Dental Insurance 401K - Company will match 50% on the first 6% of earnings Company defined pension plan - $58.50 per month/per year of service Education & Development (including Tuition Reimbursement) The Career You Will Build: Leadership training Promotional opportunities The Impact You Will Make: We continue to build a better future for people, the plant, and our company!
