We bring the world together with our fries.Job Description SummaryThis position is responsible for the packing of hash brown patties into the primary container. It is also their responsibility for the packing of the primary container into a secondary container. This position is also responsible for the inspection of visible blemishes, foreign material, misshapen units, the insurance of a sound quality product, and other tasks that may be assigned to you by your supervisor.Job Description * Make up cases and place on case conveyer to be filled * Ensure the proper count of product is in each primary container * Ensure the primary container has a legible code and is fit for use * Monitor conditions of both the primary and secondary containers when necessary * Monitor the line is operating smoothly and help where necessary * Put kwik locks onto drop bags when necessary * Add crude trays to the tray maker when necessary * Unplug tray maker when necessary * Fold stickers and place into secondary container when spec calls * Ensure product is trayed and cased correctly and efficiently with minimal amount of waste * Ensure the shrink wrap, drop bags and overall condition of the pack wrap is in good condition prior to casing * Ensure the secondary containers have the appropriate case amount in accordance with customer and case specifications * Strip out product to garbage when necessary * Aid in maintaining sanitation of the assigned work area * Maintain good housekeeping in his/her assigned area: Sweep with a broom and/or squeegee and shovel * Inform the Supervisor immediately of any finished product change, excessive waste, and/or any unusual condition * Report any personnel problems, safety violations or hazards, infractions of plant rules, etc. to the Supervisor * Help train new personnel in the position of handpack * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisory or lead personnel. * Assist with general housekeeping, dump to bulk or clean up when job duties permit * Rework damaged or restricted cases and bags of product * Maintain a neat and clean work area at all times, and exhibit good personal hygiene * Inspect cooked frozen potato products at the frozen inspection station at the exit of the spiral freeze tunnel * Ensure trays are sleeved in a poly bag and placed in a case when necessary * Rework potato product as needed * Being actively engaged in safety, participating in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, performing risk assessments and demonstrating ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members. The employee must have the ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions effectively and efficiently. The proper use of Lockouts, safety procedures, and constant awareness of safety. Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being done. Be able to work with the following equipment and tools: * Ear plugs * Approved eye protection * Hard hat * Hair net * Approved safety shoes * Apron * Approved gloves * Glove liners * Garbage barrels * Shovels, squeegees, brooms, and scrub brushes PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Must be able to stand for long periods and must be able to move quickly * The surface the employee must walk on is uneven concrete which is wet at times. * Must be able to climb up two (2) to twenty (20) steps, to get to the trim/inspection areas * Use hands to finger, handle, or feel * Reach with hands and arms and talk or hear * Must have good eye-hand coordination * Must be able to push and pull heavy items on occasion. * Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus * Moderate physical labor * Good vision and good reflexes * Must be able to bend the body at waist level on a continuous basis to pick up the potatoes.
