Summary The Groundskeeper is responsible for the upkeep and care and general maintenance of the exterior buildings and grounds. Education/Experience/Licensure Education/Formal Training Work Experience Credential/Licensure REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED N/A Valid Driver’s License PREFERRED: N/A N/A N/A SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED: N/A N/A N/A Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to work on their own and accomplish desired outcomes. Have good oral communication capabilities. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations. Ability to communicate verbally with co-workers. Ability to read and follow written instructions. Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow. Key Job Responsibilities Maintains sidewalks and parking lots to include pressure washing and removal of trash and debris. Responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of MLH exterior buildings and grounds. Performs and follows all planning and Construction Department safety rules and guidelines. Cleans daily, all outside areas of the facility. In winter months, shovel snow and spread sand or chemicals on sidewalks, parking lots, and steps to keep cleared. Physical Requirements Exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials, temperatures of extreme hot and cold, and high levels of noise. Daily work performed outdoors. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations. Normal vision, including color and night vision. Ability to lift, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, squat, kneel, reach, bend, crawl and twist throughout the shift. Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motion. Good hand-eye coordination.
