Intercept is seeking a Foster Family Trainer Supervisor to lead the recruitment, training, tracking, evaluation, approval, and marketing efforts for treatment foster families within Intercept's Treatment Foster Care programs. Education & Experience: A doctorate or master's degree in a field related to social work such as, but not limited to, sociology, psychology, special education, or counseling with at least three years of experience providing casework services to children and families in a child-placing agency; OR A baccalaureate degree in social work or a field related to social work including, but not limited to sociology, psychology, special education, or counseling and at least four years of experience in providing casework services to children and families; OR A baccalaureate degree in any field plus five years of experience in the field of foster care or experience in working with behavioral programs, counseling, and/or skills training. A minimum of one year of program administration is highly desirable. Experience in marketing, business development, or public relations, with an emphasis on developing new territories, target markets, and/or customer bases highly preferred. LEAD SUPPORT Assist with establishing and implementing program and agency-wide policies and procedures. Ensure daily execution of policies, including all requirements stipulated by licensure agencies and funding entities (including documentation, training, completion of the home study process and approval) through Foster Parent Trainers. Orient, provide ongoing training, and counsel to Foster Parent Trainers to ensure they have the information, technology, and reference materials necessary to produce exceptional job performance. Provide technical assistance and support to Foster Family Trainers with developing home studies, collection of required documentation, parent skills training curriculum implementation, and weekly reporting completion. Maintain open communication with the Senior Director of Program Development regarding: Foster Family Trainer progress towards completing tasks, teaching parent applicant issues, policy change recommendations, training opportunities, new family recruitment marketing strategies, and any other issues impacting the success of recruiting, training, and approving teaching parents. FOSTER FAMILY MARKETING/RECRUITMENT Develop and implement the strategic marketing plan within assigned area to include outreach efforts in the community. Maintain expansive knowledge base of community and business development concepts. Measure and evaluate the success of Intercept's Foster Family Recruitment Plan (FFRP) within assigned area. Develop and maintain relationships with potential families, partnering agencies, and community contacts (serving on community boards, informing organizations of services, strengthening the interagency process in the service area, etc.) and to help identify the best quality care needed for Intercept clients. FOSTER FAMILY ORIENTATION/TRAINING Maintain foster parent certification quotas as determined by the Senior Director of Program Development each month. Participate in the process of determining suitability of potential families for approval as treatment foster care parents. Complete expeditiously all evaluations, background checks, references, interviews, home studies, and screenings of potential foster families to ensure world class foster care environments for Intercept clients. Train foster parents, staff and families involved in foster treatment through a proactive process of assessment, goal-setting and ABC planning to address the client's emotional/behavioral problems to promote normal development. Teach and assist in the implementation of initial base-lining/data keeping tasks with foster parents, and provide tracking instruments (STEP Charts, Daily Connection Logs, Daily Observation Charts, etc.) Visit potential family homes to effectively evaluate home environments and parenting skills, and to provide naturalistic/informal counseling to families. Provide clear performance feedback to Teaching Parents in accordance with Intercept policies. Monitor and follow up on the family approval process by assessing and reporting progress to team weekly. Provide regular evaluations of the recruiting/orientation/Parent Skills Training processes, and make program adjustments as necessary. Comply with any recommendations generated by licensing or funding entity audits. Utilize available resources, consulting agency trainings, and practical experience to become a highly adept trainer of Parenting Skills Training curriculum. Schedule and deliver Parenting Skills Training courses for Intercept Staff and Teaching Parents. SUPERVISION Hire employees based on Intercept values/policies/procedures, licensing agencies, funding entities, local, state, and federal requirements. Orient, train, counsel, and supervise employees to ensure they have the information, technology, and reference materials necessary to produce exceptional job performance. Delegate work to staff. Evaluate and develop staff to meet program needs as appropriate. Oversee the timely submission of staff work schedules, time sheets, and departmental expenditures. Approve requests based on Intercept policy/procedure. Conduct regular documented supervision with staff.
