This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. Acting with Integrity Communicating Effectively Pursuing Self-Development Serving Customers Supporting Change Supporting Organizational Goals Working with Diverse Populations What does it take to be successful in this role? • Excellent organization and follow-up skills • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with customers • Ability to maintain professionalism • Strong attention to detail • Ability to interpret complex language in state insurance laws and regulations • A positive and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team environment • Ability to work with little supervision • Stands out as someone able to consistently exercise good judgment • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Demonstrates effective time management skills by completing assignments by deadlines • Possesses a strong desire to continually learn Education & Experience Required Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Management, Business Administration, Health Care Management, or a related field Two years of professional work-related experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience Education & Experience Preferred Investments, Accounting, Legal, and/or Compliance experience Travel Less than or equal to 10% Principal Duties & Responsibilities • Assists business units with the implementation of new/changing financial and investment regulations • Reviews problem situations and assists with the development of solutions and helps to implement action steps to ensure regulatory compliance; monitors activities to assess compliance risk, identify instances of non-compliance and makes recommendations for remedies • Partners closely with other Compliance teams and various Aflac business units with respect to the enforcement of processes and procedures necessary to implement required regulations as well as to create and maintain a “closed-loop” accountability system; proactively communicates with all parties in establishing accountability • Partners with internal Compliance teams to maintain relevant regulatory databases, and serves as a referral source for information on any regulatory changes • Participates in Compliance projects and/or the development of specific Compliance processes associated with the operational risk and internal controls that have a substantial impact on department and/or the organization; partners with key leadership to develop effective controls • Responds to customer inquiries in a timely, efficient, and effective manner • Monitors investments made by the Aflac group of companies to ensure compliance with state insurance department-issued investment laws and regulations • Renews and maintains state insurance department-issued Certificates of Authority for each insurance entity • Ensures statutory deposits required by state insurance departments are maintained at or above their required levels • Assists in financial examinations conducted by state insurance departments of Aflac insurance entities • Participates in corporate-level projects and initiatives as required • Performs other related duties as required Total Rewards This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $48,000 to $110,000. In addition to the base salary, we offer an array of benefits to meet your needs including medical, dental, and vision coverage, prescription drug coverage, health care flexible spending, dependent care flexible spending, Aflac supplemental policies (Accident, Cancer, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity offered at no costs to employee), 401(k) plans, annual bonuses, and an opportunity to purchase company stock. On an annual basis, you’ll also be offered 11 paid holidays, up to 20 days PTO to be used for any reason, and, if eligible, state mandated sick leave (Washington employees accrue 1 hour sick leave for every 40 hours worked) and other leaves of absence, if eligible, when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
