This advertisement is for a Career Service position in the Bureau of Professional Development and Training. Salary Rate: $63,617.84 annually SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. EMPLOYEES ARE NORMALLY HIRED AT THE MINIMUM OF THE SALARY RANGE. DESCRIPTION: This team is responsible for Curriculum, Evaluation, and Planning to ensure the development and delivery of training programs that align with the agency's goals and objectives. This team is responsible for managing curriculum, eLearning activities, and the intranet site for the Bureau; creating succession-based curricula that supports the Department's professional development initiatives for supervisory and line level employees; overseeing the production and promotion of innovative training resources and services for instructors; working with Regional Training Managers and Coordinators, Staff Development Training Coordinators, Training Officers and Sergeants, as well as other FDC staff to develop and review new curriculum material, conduct focus groups, assist with strategic planning, evaluate and manage longitudinal programs, conduct research, collect and analyze data, and provide other necessary support as it relates to training; and performs other related duties as assigned. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent in this position is responsible for supporting the Department’s computer-based training programs, automated training records management systems, and for implementing, validating, and evaluating training programs both online and in the traditional classroom setting. Duties include conducting needs analyses, job task analyses, designing and evaluating training programs. Duties also include traveling to various locations to insure that programs are implemented properly. Serves as support for implementation, validation, and evaluation of the Department’s web-based training and traditional classroom training program. This includes installing, maintaining, and training staff on related software; updating and revising training documentation; training users on training applications and automated training management systems, i.e., E-Train, Cornerstone. Arrange repairs with outside vendors; and tracking courseware, inventory and usage. Provides technical assistance in the production of computer-based training materials. Develops complete electronic courses of study as assigned. Establishes course objectives and outlines, comprehensive design documents, storyboards, scripts, graphics and graphic design, editing sound and video, and all other components necessary in computer-based instruction. Act as liaison with other Department of Corrections entities to provide assistance with training development and delivery and make recommendations on issues that impact the development or delivery of training within the department. Assists in routinely monitoring and evaluating technology-based training programs and prepares reports regarding the use of such programs. Conducts onsite monitoring activities necessary for the evaluation of staff training programs Establishes course objectives and outlines, comprehensive design documents, storyboards, scripts, graphics and graphic design, editing sound and video, and all other components necessary in computer-based instruction. Assists in the development of plans, policies and procedures related to staff training. Develops and implements the compilation and analysis of data for the purpose of improving training content and delivery of both online and classroom curricula. Develops and implements training for large groups of trainers on how to operate within a Learning Management System. Performs other duties as assigned. Ability to develop new methods and techniques of training and evaluation. Knowledge of the methods of data collection. Knowledge of the principles of human behavior, learning, and communication. Knowledge of instructional design, research, and implementation methodologies REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required. Must be a current employee with the Florida Department of Corrections Candidates must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent and have one or more years’ experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS), process improvement and/or process redesign; or one year of experience as a CJSTC certified instructor, three years of experience within the agency. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to those with two or more years of professional experience in staff development, training, teaching, research, program evaluation, and/or project management.
