Title: Engineering Technical Estimator ( Level four ): F-35 ProgramLocation: United States-California-Redondo BeachOther Locations: nullThe Engineering Technical Estimator is responsible for the development of cost estimates for the Engineering discipline within the Aerospace Systems Sector assigned to the area of Military Aircraft Systems. The assignments include conducting data calls across the Corporation to discover relevant cost and technical data to be used in developing engineering labor estimates for the proposing of compelling cost positions to customers. The data call evolves into comprehensive analysis using advanced cost modeling and mathematical tools to project engineering labor hours required to successfully execute customer objectives. The estimator is tasked with developing proposal Basis of Estimates (BOEs) based on the data analysis in a form that is persuasive with evidence presented that minimizes refutability. The analysis is typically developed with a probabilistic approach employing cost risk analysis techniques such as Monte-Carlo simulation with results presented in the form of a cost S curve. The Technical Estimator is responsible for advocating the estimate by presenting to all levels of leadership and obtaining agreement and approval of the estimated position. The work environment can be characterized as fast-paced that requires the estimator to act with speed and agility. Applicant must be a self-starting problem solver; possess a strong work ethic, good communications and people skills. Minimum requirements: BS degree and at least eight years of directly related experience. Preferred Requirements: twelve or more years of background in Technical Estimating. Background with parametric cost modeling tools (SEER, PRICE), and risk software, such as Crystal Ball. Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
