Assumes service line accountability and responsibility for the management and development of programs within the service line and for the operations and results in each designated patient care unit or department. In the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director, Nursing Services will be designated to assume the authority and responsibility for directing the activities of the nursing departments. Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession. Advocates for the protection and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing and other professions, especially related to health and safety.
