Physics, precision instruments, electronic product design, lasers, optics, firmware, PCBs, sensors My client is looking for a Physicist with Engineering experience to provide practical application of scientific principles to optical design, non-destructive testing, radiometry and other instrumentation products. You will also evaluate new scientific principals and technologies, folding them into electronic prototype designs and builds to evaluate potentially using lab experiments. Key requirements: Experience of engineering / electronics development and project management. Strong relevant degree or Ph D with an interest or exposure to precision instruments, electronic product design, lasers, optics, firmware, PCBs, sensors, thermal imaging and/or radiometry. Previous success applying physics and engineering skills to real world projects. Able to communicate effectively with the development engineers, manufacturing, internals sales teams, customers and partners. What you might be doing: Device design, development, test, calibration, build and commission work as appropriate. Research, development and maintenance of relevant physics and technology knowledge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-qualified scientist who wants to apply their theoretical knowledge and interest in scientific discovery and emerging technologies to novel instrument design.
