Description Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for an Associate Project Manager who will work alongside engineers and management for various clients supported by the Power Delivery Services (PDS) division. The position will have internal and client facing responsibilities, such as driving scope execution, schedule/resource management, financial management, construction management and risk mitigation.The Associate Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office (PMO) within the PDS Division that provides consulting services to both public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, distribution and substation, and projects nationwide.This position will be a 6-12-month contract position.We are specifically looking for Electric Utilities Project Controls candidates in the following locations:Atlanta, GAAlpharetta, GASavannah, GAPrimary ResponsibilitiesManaging various sized distribution or transmission/substation projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilitiesResponsible for overall project performance as well as managing the scope, schedule, budget, and safety performanceProvide analysis of schedule data to identify key project issuesVerify progress and reviews performance trendsEnsuring project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limitsWorking with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverablesCreation and maintenance of client and office schedulesDevelopment of controls reports to produce weekly/monthly reports for client and internal management review (i.e. Financial Reports, Action Item Lists, Resource loading analysis and schedules, Meeting Minutes, etc.)Coordinates with engineers, land agents, project managers and other analysts to update and execute project scheduleInvestigate causes of variances between planned and earned/actual progress and document discoveriesInterfacing directly with the client and internal management to report progress, costs, schedule and risks across a portfolio of distribution projectsAssist with the preparation of bid documents, development of requests for proposal responses and cost estimatesCreation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI trackingMonthly client invoicingBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in the following disciplines: Engineering, Business or Finance required with l two plus (2+) years of relevant Project Management experience; may consider more related experience in lieu of degree.Experience with Distribution projectsMust have the capability for planning, organizing, directing, and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasksAbility to take direction from and discuss decisions with supervisor, and to coordinate with peers on projectMust be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner in briefings meetingsMust have demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting businessStrong writing and verbal communication skillsPeriodic travel is requiredPreferred QualificationsConstruction experience with distribution projectsFour plus (4+) years of relevant Project Management experienceExperience with MS Project, JIRA or WorkFront PM Platforms is highly preferredPay Range:Pay Range $54,600.00 - $98,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
