ROLE: Criminal Solicitor LOCATION: Burnley SAL - DOEMy client, a long established practice offering a wide range of services with offices in Burnley, Colne and Ramsbottom, is seeking to recruit a Criminal Solicitor with Duty Solicitor Accreditation to join thir busy Criminal Department. An exciting opportunity to join a long established Criminal Practice dealing with publicly funded and regulatory matters. Role Responsibilities The incoming Criminal Solicitor will be joining a very well-established team who provide advice and representation for clients at the police station and court. The team handle various criminal matters for both magistrate and crown court including: Theft Assault Drug offences Motoring offences Benefit fraud Cyber crime interactionual allegations Business Defence You will be meeting clients and taking instructions, representing clients at the police station and in the magistrates' court, interviewing witnesses and preparing cases. You will mainly be required to deal with magistrate court work; however the firm are happy for you to be involved in the crown court work if you have the higher rights. Person Specification Applications are sought from Criminal Solicitors with Police Station Accreditation and the following skills and experience: Ability to handle a varied caseload including matters mentioned above Good working knowledge of Legal Aid funding Experience with privately funded cases Organised with effective time management skills Strong communication and analytical skills Benefits and Rewards This is an exciting opportunity for a Criminal Solicitor to join a well-established law firm who offer a competitive salary along with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
