*Candidates located in Oregon or willing to relocate to Oregon preferred* This position establishes financial status by developing and implementing accounting policies and systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information; and managing staff. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Manages the accounting operations. Technical accounting subject matter expert, researching, writing and enforcing accounting policies and procedures in accordance with the latest GAAP requirements as adopted by Arcimoto. Manages the SEC financial statement reporting through the entire process from setting accounting policy, managing accounting operations, completing the external auditor requirements, creating schedules, analysis, statements, writing the notes to the financial statements and MD&A. Serve as a business partner to other functions by providing information to assist their needs. For example; working with the Treasury to ensure that loan covenants are amended to incorporate language that replaces LIBOR, or assisting FP&A via providing accounting guidance to M&A activities. Accomplishes accounting human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change; ensures transactions are recorded in accordance with the latest GAAP requirements as adopted by Arcimoto; develops and leads a cross functional period end closing process under tight deadlines Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts; defining accounting policies and procedures in accordance with the latest GAAP requirements as adopted by Arcimoto Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential Oversee and manage accounting department, including the financial close process and SOX compliance for the entire organization Establish and maintain systems and controls to verify the integrity of all systems, accounting practices and policies, processes, and data Manage all financial areas for risk of misstatement Ensure the integrity of all inventory records, COGS, and inventory controls Provide user training to all employees on ERP, document retention, and corporate SOP's Build and develop the accounting department, set departmental and personal goals, creating strategies to reach goals and monitoring progress Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related projects as needed REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Education: BS/BA in accounting Experience: 3-7 years related experience in a public manufacturing environment SEC reporting experience required CPA Valid Driver's License PREFERRED ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE Legal compliance Accounting Managing processes Reporting research results Management proficiency Manufacturing company experience WORK ENVIRONMENT Arcimoto operates in a research and development facility where office space and manufacturing occur.
