Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will play a crucial role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting our growth through acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Sage accounting software and a strong background in financial management within a private equity-backed environment. Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and financial planning. Acquisition Integration: Manage the financial integration of acquired companies, ensuring seamless transitions and alignment with corporate accounting policies and procedures. Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Accounts Management: Supervise the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions. Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital to support the company’s operational needs and growth objectives. Audit Coordination: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely completion and addressing any audit findings or recommendations. Sage Expertise: Utilize Sage accounting software to its full potential, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and system integrity. Train and support staff in the effective use of Sage. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance. Strategic Support: Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management and the board of directors, supporting strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and long-term planning. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting or controller role, preferably within a private equity-backed services-based company. Proven experience with Sage accounting software is required. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience with financial due diligence and integration of acquisitions. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
