General Information: Job title: Clinical Nurse Educator Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm (varies upon needs) Weekend rotation: No weekend Holiday rotation: Paid holidays Position Summary: The clinical nurse educator is responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education. This position will facilitate, preceptor, and mentor staff and team members to grow professionally and advance their competency with knowledge and skills. The clinical nurse educator will demonstrate professionalism at all times, meet regulatory and policy requirements, engage standards of practice, and hold team members accountable for safe, competent practice, quality care, and continual improvement. The clinical nurse educator also takes on the roles of Emergency Management Lead and Trauma Coordinator. Position Responsibilities: Demonstrates an understanding of regulatory requirements and professional practice guidelines Presents a working knowledge of organizational policies and procedures Shows competence in the performance of skills to be a resource and mentor for team members Demonstrates knowledge and skills in the following: Communication, time management & leadership Instructs ACLS and PALS courses Computer technology: Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, EMR Documentation systems (i.e.Meditech) Set the tone for a productive, professional work environment using the Healthy Work Environment Standards Remain knowledgeable of evidence based practice and skills for multiple areas of expertise Participate in interdepartmental and hospital quality and performance improvement activities Proactively round with director and team members in the departments and identify opportunities for improvement Provide a safe, clean and secure work and practice environment Monitor utilization of equipment and supplies Assist in evaluating the competency of staff and ensuring that mandatory education is complete Collaborate with the clinical education planning and evaluation of nursing staff Promote, facilitate, and provide education about new practice changes, regulatory requirements, new equipment and skills to team members on the units Remains fiscally responsible at all times: monitors supplies, and manages equipment Demonstrate effective communication, people management, and team-building activities Participate in updating and upholding standards of practice, role model to others by maintaining the ethical standards of behavior Adhere to professional guidelines for practice such as State Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Association professional standards of care Position Requirements: Required Licenses [United States] Registered Nurse Current WI Nursing License Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred Minimum Work Experience Minimum 4 years' patient care experience unless determined to be prepared for advancement by director Experience in Critical Care and Trauma nursing Required Skills Current BLS certification Current ACLS and PALS resuscitation instructor certification or must be obtained within 12 months of hire to position Current ACLS, PALS and NRP certification or must be obtained within 12 months of hire to position Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with individuals and groups Ability to keep patient information confidential Able to communicate effectively Job Posted by ApplicantPro
