The mission of the Mental Health Association is to promote mental health, with the integration of physical healthcare, to improve the care and treatment of individuals with mental illness, and to remove the stigma associated with mental health disorders and addictions. MHA is seeking full time clinical co-responders to join our Morris County Clinical Co-Response Team ! Be a part of the team that makes a difference in the lives of our consumers. Hours for this position are from 3PM - 11PM Benefits of working at the Mental Health Association: Joining the staff of supportive and team oriented individuals MHA is an approved site for the New Jersey Behavioral Healthcare Provider Loan Redemption Program. Excellent benefits package available Retention Incentive provided after completion of 6 month anniversary Provides Clinical Co-Response to the Police Department QUALIFICATIONS Master’s Degree and a License in Social Work or Counseling is required (LPC/LCSW Preferred, LAC or LSW will be considered with at least 1-2 years of experience). Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and a good driving record. Knowledge of Morris County resources is helpful. Ability to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation as related to community mental health/justice involved individuals in the community. Able to collaborate effectively with responding officers to provide support and resources to individuals within Morris County. RESPONSIBILITIES Provides co-responding efforts to identify mental health and crisis response incidents in the community, in collaboration with the Police Departments within Morris County. Co-Responding Responding to calls in conjunction with Police Departments for cases in which a mental health concern is indicated, including but not limited to: mental health crisis, quality of life calls, wellness checks, and connection/linkage to community services. Ongoing collaboration with Police Departments within Morris County around appropriate training and education to support a shift towards better understanding of the social services lens and best practice regarding de-escalation approaches on calls. Developing systems for on-going follow up for community members in need of connections to social services that can enhance prevention of non-emergency calls and increase early intervention treatment access. Direct follow up with identified clients and collateral contacts as needed in order to facilitate access to appropriate services based on immediate client needs. Record keeping, reports, and documentation in accordance with program requirements. Being on-call and available to the Police Departments during scheduled work hours via cell phone. Record Keeping & Reporting Record keeping as required by funding sources through the electronic clinical record software, and/or accreditation agencies as required. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
