The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Working as a member of the Health Records Team the incumbent is responsible but not limited to assembling inpatient discharges & daycares, assigning deficiencies, providing, maintaining and processing health records. Utilizes computer systems to obtain information necessary to retrieve/file reports and heath records. Experience One (1) year experience in a hospital Health Records Department required within the last two years OR One (1) year medical office experience required within the last two years Terminal Digit (TD) filing required Experience working with both electronic and paper health records preferred Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required Successful completion of a recognized Medical/Surgical Office Assistant or Health Information Management program preferred A combination of education and experience may be considered SPECIAL TRAINING: Terminal Digital (TD) filing required Typing/keyboarding skills (minimum 30 wpm) Medical terminology required (pass mark 75%) Operational knowledge of computer terminals required Certification/Licensure/Registration Not Applicable Qualifications and Skills Preference will be given to those applicants competent.
