Chief Grant Writer The Position The Chief Grant Writer will support KCCEB to successfully diversify and grow the agency's grant writing portfolio with a focus on state and federal grants as well as large institutional philanthropic funding. This person will also raise the visibility of KCCEB's public health advocacy work through report and evaluation writing. Currently, our public health advocacy work includes COVID-19 Access, linguistic and cultural competence, data disaggregation, anti-Asian violence prevention and raising visibility of public health needs of immigrant communities. Primary Responsibilities Under the supervision of Executive Director, the Chief Grant Writer is responsible for securing and managing grants (specifically state and federal government, large foundations) and lifting up the successes of KCCEB's work through reports and evaluations. The work includes: Attending bidders' conferences to stay current with funders' priorities and as required to ensure eligibility for application to funders Researching requests for proposals and writing letters of inquiry for new and existing agency programs and general operationsWriting successful multi-year state and federal grants as well as institutional philanthropic proposals including narratives, project budgets, scope of work, evaluation plans Working with the Chief Program Strategist and Impact & Advocacy Manager to write research reports and evaluations lifting up the successes and lessons learned of KCCEB's public health and community mental health work (eg., language equity, community safety, holistic mental health) Assimilate information about KCCEB's issues and programmatic work from a variety of sources and describe our activities in a clear and compelling mannerCommunicate and coordinate upcoming deadlines with appropriate staff as neededRepresent KCCEB both internal and external to the agency as needed in a positive mannerParticipate in local, regional and national calls/meetings related to health equity, raising the visibility of Asian American concerns as needed (.eg., vaccine access, safety concerns, data disaggregation, health insurance access)Attend all assigned meetings and trainings as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications Proven track record of grant writing success and award at the state and federal government level as well as large institutional foundations with a focus on community health (mental and physical) preferredAt least 5-7 years of experience and measurable success in grants consulting and grants writingWrite in a variety of styles specific to each funder's narrative requirements, ranging from highly technical to personal submissions, using templates and forms required by the funderStrong familiarity of the intersectionality of factors, systemic barriers, and other culturally related issues impacting underserved API and other immigrant communities' access to public health, mental health, and other safety net resources preferredProficiency and affinity for the preparation of complex budgets and expenditure reportsCollegial team player able to interact effectively with diverse internal and external constituenciesAbility to work in a fast-paced work environment and successfully maintain grace and professionalism under pressureMust be a dynamic self-starter with initiative, demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members, nimbly manage multiple deadlinesExcellent organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills requiredAbility to occasionally work a flexible schedule based on program needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays if neededComputer and database literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and Salesforce)Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for KCCEB's missionMaster's degree in public health or related fields (e.g., social work, public policy, health education, psychology) is a plus.recblid mgisvfyo6p9qrbevo0mk74m9cavpe0MastersPDN-9c0fd0ca-685c-4a44-b820-3a9be9fddaa5
